Bernardo O’Higgins School to undergo major expansion in Porvenir
The Bernardo O’Higgins School in Porvenir is scheduled for a major expansion and remodeling project starting next year. José Raúl Alvarado, the regional Secretary of Education, announced that the project is currently in the budget and investment division phase, awaiting approval from the Regional Council.
The project involves an investment of approximately 15 billion pesos and includes the addition of 2,650 square meters to the facility. The goal is to bring the historic institution, established in 1946, up to current educational infrastructure standards.
During the construction period, students will be temporarily relocated to the Magallanes Technical Training Center (CFT) located at the former Hernando de Magallanes High School site to ensure continuity in their education.
