Bernardo Pie donates RD$50,000 award to taekwondo instructor

Taekwondo medalist Bernardo Pie has donated RD$50,000 to his former instructor, Héctor Rodríguez, also known as ‘La Culebra’. The funds were originally awarded to Pie during a recognition ceremony for athletes and coaches in the Monte Plata province.

Pie stated that the donation was an act of gratitude for Rodríguez’s role in his early development. He credited his instructor with instilling essential values such as discipline, respect, and perseverance during his formative years in the sport. The recognition event was supported by various provincial authorities and institutions, including the Bayaguana Sports Union and the El Progreso Cooperative.
