Bernardo Trindade seeks leadership of Portugal's Tourism Confederation

Bernardo Trindade, the current president of the Associação da Hotelaria de Portugal (AHP), has announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Confederation of Tourism of Portugal (CTP). According to the AHP, Trindade's bid has already secured support from approximately 60% of the Confederation's electoral universe.

The support base is described as widespread, covering all tourism subsectors and spanning the entire national territory, including the mainland and autonomous regions. The list of supporters includes various industry associations such as APHORT, AHETA, and the Portuguese Association of Casinos, as well as regional entities in Funchal, Ourém-Fátima, and Angra do Heroísmo.

On the corporate level, the candidacy is backed by major hotel groups including Pestana Hotel Group, Vila Galé Hotéis, and SANA Hotels, among others. Additionally, key infrastructure and service entities such as ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal, SATA, and Lisbon Cruise Port have expressed support for his campaign to succeed Francisco Calheiros.
