Bernau rail service disruptions extend through August 2028

Construction on the S1, S25 and S85 lines will keep the Wollankstraße station closed to all traffic toward Oranienburg and Hennigsdorf until August 2028, requiring passengers to travel to Schönholz and use opposite‑direction trains. A summer‑holiday shutdown will also suspend S-Bahn service between Bernau and Karow from 22:00 on 10 July to 01:30 on 21 July, with barrier‑free bus replacements, and a further interruption between Buch and Bernau on 21 July 21:45 to 24 July 22:05. Additional work includes night‑time construction on RE3 services between Berlin Gesundbrunnen and Niedergörsdorf, and extensive repairs on the Berlin‑Charlottenburg to Ostbahnhof corridor that will limit regional traffic until December 2026. Drivers are advised of dense traffic on several local roads and a full closure of the L305 bridge near Schönerlinde until 6 August. The VBB recommends using alternative S‑lines (S3, S5, S7, S75, S9) where possible.
