Bernie Sanders endorses five progressive candidates in Arizona

Senator Bernie Sanders has endorsed five progressive candidates for state and local offices in Arizona as part of a broader effort to build a progressive political movement. The endorsed candidates include Mariana Sandoval, Brian Garcia, Lorena Austin, Jacob Martinez, and Analise Ortiz.

These endorsements are notable as Sanders openly identifies with democratic socialism, a term that has seen shifting perceptions within the Democratic Party. In competitive districts such as LD23 and LD9, candidates are prominently featuring Sanders’ support to bolster their campaigns.
