Bernie Williams to join Broadway musical Buena Vista Social Club

Former New York Yankees center fielder Bernie Williams will join the live production band for the Broadway musical ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ for a five-week engagement. Williams, a Latin Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist who holds a degree in jazz performance from the Manhattan School of Music, is scheduled to perform from October 22 through November 29.

During this period, Williams will share the stage with Jose ‘Candelita’ Iglesias, who serves as the production’s narrator. Iglesias has extended his stay through November 15. Additionally, actress Gina Torres is set to join the cast as Omara Portuondo from October 13 to November 29. The production is held at the Schoenfeld Theatre.
