Bernkastel-Kues prepares traffic plan for 2026 Mittelmosel wine festival
The Mittelmosel wine festival will take place in Bernkastel-Kues from September 3‑8, 2026. To prevent congestion, the town has introduced a detailed traffic concept that redirects vehicles to the Kues district and limits access to the historic centre.
Visitors arriving by car can use the Altstadtparkhaus at the former station throughout the event, while additional spaces at the Kueser Werth parking lot are opened from Friday to Sunday for a €7 fee. Extra weekend parking is provided along the Moselle riverbank, behind the mini‑golf course, at the local school centre and near the Sparkasse Mittelmosel. Supermarket chains such as Lidl, Aldi and Rossmann also open their parking areas after closing hours. Motorhome users can park at the Kueser Werth and the school centre for €10 per day, and motorcyclists may use the same spots for €4. Bus parking is available beneath the municipal administration building daily, with supplementary spaces at the Kueser Werth and school centre on weekends for €12.
