Beroun court sentences Jan Šinágl for concealing assets
A court in Beroun has sentenced activist Jan Šinágl to a six-month suspended prison sentence, with a 14-month probation period. The ruling follows Šinágl's failure to provide truthful declarations regarding his assets, which was an attempt to avoid paying millions in damages to Helena Vondráčková and her family following a defamation dispute.
Šinágl reportedly used personal bankruptcy and voluntary auctions to hide assets from executors. Additionally, the activist faces separate misdemeanor proceedings in Hořovice regarding allegations of physically assaulting children at a local hospital.
