Bersatu leaders and branch chiefs resign in Perlis
Mass resignations are occurring within the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in Perlis, Malaysia. In the Kangar division, Deputy Chief Faisol Rahman, along with the division committee and 90 of its 99 branch chiefs, announced their immediate departure from the party. The group also includes leadership from the Armada, Srikandi, and Srikandi Muda wings.
Similarly, in the Padang Besar division, Deputy Chief Ramzi Udi and 19 other leaders have resigned, citing dissatisfaction with leadership at the division, state, and central levels. The departing members from both divisions have announced they are joining Parti Wawasan Negara, led by Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
Those leaving stated that the decision followed a loss of confidence in the party’s central leadership, organizational management, and strategic direction. The resignations do not involve Bersatu Members of Parliament or state assemblymen. Perlis Bersatu leadership chief Izizam Ibrahim stated he views the departures positively, suggesting they allow for an effective cleansing process to strengthen the party in the state.
