Bersatu party received RM25.3 million linked to Jana Wibawa projects

During a court proceeding, an investigator from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) testified that RM25.3 million was deposited into the accounts of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) party between September 2021 and November 2022.

The funds were allegedly transferred by an individual and four companies—KCJ Engineering Sdn. Bhd, Nepturis Sdn. Bhd, Mamfor Sdn. Bhd, and Sutracom Sdn. Bhd—following their success in securing projects under the Jana Wibawa program. The investigator stated that these payments were not bona fide political donations but were instead rewards for assistance in obtaining the government projects.

According to the testimony, the investigation found that these companies would not have made the payments had they not been awarded the projects. The accounts in question, held at CIMB Bank and AmBank, were reportedly under the control of former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Additionally, the investigator noted a lack of official receipts for these contributions.
