Bertelsmann hosts inaugural UFA Filmnacht in Luxembourg

The inaugural UFA Filmnacht took place in Luxembourg, featuring a sold-out Ciné-Concert at the Philharmonie Luxembourg. Approximately 1,200 attendees watched a digitally restored version of Ernst Lubitsch’s 1918 silent film ‘Carmen’.

The screening was accompanied by live music performed by the Luxembourg Philharmonic under the direction of Nacho de Paz, using a score by Tobias Schwencke. The event was organized by Bertelsmann in cooperation with the Philharmonie Luxembourg.

Bertelsmann CEO Thomas Rabe noted that the initiative aims to provide a cultural highlight for the local community, highlighting the company’s long-standing connection to Luxembourg. The UFA Filmnacht format, which originated in Berlin, has previously expanded to cities including Brussels, Madrid, Paris, and New York.
