Bertín Osborne Hospitalized with Acute Pneumonia, Cancels Concerts in Spain
Spanish singer and presenter Bertín Osborne, 71, has been hospitalized with an acute pneumonia that shows extensive spots in his lungs. He explained on television that "no es alarmante, pero está en cama, con bastante fiebre y tiene una neumonía bastante aguda" and added that the condition stems from lingering effects of a second COVID‑19 infection.
The illness has left him barely able to speak and unable to sing, forcing the cancellation of scheduled concerts in Galicia, including shows in Pontevedra and Sanxenxo, and raising doubts about upcoming performances in Madrid and Vila de Cruces that are part of his farewell "45 Years" tour. His daughter Alejandra confirmed his severe condition, noting that he is under medical care and receiving antibiotics while he recuperates.
Osborne urged fans not to worry, stating "Estoy aquí porque quiero explicaros… todavía no, espero" and expressed deep regret for disappointing his Galician audience. His health status will determine whether the remaining tour dates can proceed.
