Beruti officials propose law for free toll access on Route 5

Authorities in Beruti and Trenque Lauquen are taking legislative and administrative actions to address ongoing conflicts regarding the toll station on National Route 5 at kilometer 429.

Mayor Francisco Recoulat has announced a two-pronged strategy: requesting an urgent hearing with National Road Authorities to relocate the toll booth to kilometer 416, as stipulated in the current concession agreement, and introducing a bill in the National Congress. The proposed law, titled “Garantía de Libre Circulación entre Beruti y Trenque Lauquen,” seeks to establish a 100% fare discount for residents of Beruti and its rural areas to ensure free movement between the town and Trenque Lauquen.

The legislative project aims to provide unlimited free passage for residents, including those using vehicles for health, education, or essential services, and seeks to automate the transition for those already under existing differential tariff regimes.
