Beruti residents file legal action against Route 5 toll fees
Residents of Beruti, Argentina, have filed a collective injunction in the Federal Court of Pehuajó to seek total exemption from toll payments at the National Route 5 toll station located at kilometer 429.
The legal action, led by Frente Renovador official Lucas Castrillón alongside residents Verónica Fogtmann, Pablo Ariel Simon, and María Ángel Martínez, targets the concessionaire Corredor Vial 5 S.A.U. and the National State through the Ministry of Economy. The plaintiffs argue that the current toll rates, which have reached 8,600 pesos, impose an excessive economic burden on those who must travel daily to Trenque Lauquen for work, education, healthcare, or administrative services.
The lawsuit characterizes the requirement for Beruti inhabitants to pay the general tariff for routine travel to their district head as illegitimate, arbitrary, and unreasonable. The group is seeking a precautionary measure to halt these charges, noting that current discounts are set to expire on February 28, 2027.
