BESAŞ supports local producers and consumers in Bursa

BESAŞ, a subsidiary of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, is implementing production and pricing policies designed to support both local farmers and consumers in Bursa, Turkey.

To assist local agriculture, the company has purchased 60 tons of local crops at prices above market value. In the dairy sector, BESAŞ procures between 15 and 20 tons of raw milk daily from 250 local producers, two bee farms, and four agricultural development cooperatives in Keles.

For consumers, BESAŞ offers food products at competitive rates. Its 400-gram bread is priced at 17.50 TL (approximately 43.75 TL per kilogram), which is among the most affordable options in Turkey. Additionally, specialized breads like organic siyez whole wheat bread are sold for 55 TL, significantly lower than market prices that range from 120 to 150 TL for similar products.

With a daily production capacity of 300,000 loaves of bread, BESAŞ operates through nine sales stores and nearly 500 dealers. The company also produces approximately 200 different food items, including milk and dairy products such as yogurt, ayran, and various cheeses, maintaining prices below market averages.
