Besanino railway service suspended between Villasanta and Triuggio

Railway services on the Besanino line will be suspended between Villasanta and Triuggio starting September 7, 2026, due to infrastructure works related to the Pedemontana project. While the first phase of service modifications is scheduled to conclude by December 12, 2026, overall construction works are expected to continue until September 2, 2027.

During this period, the S7 line will operate between Lecco and Triuggio Parco, and between Villasanta and Milano Porta Garibaldi. The frequency of trains between Villasanta and Milan will be reduced to every 60 minutes, losing the previous 30-minute peak-hour cadence.

To assist commuters, Trenord is implementing two replacement bus services. One shuttle will run between Triuggio and Arcore to connect with the S8 line, while another will connect Triuggio Ponte Albiate with Villasanta and Monza, facilitating connections with S7 trains to Milan. Additionally, the R15 Seregno-Carnate line will be reactivated, operating Monday through Saturday.

The Municipality of Villasanta has requested that the Lombardy Region confirm the restoration of peak-hour S7 service frequencies starting in January 2027.
