Besar Durmishi reports no current evidence of agricultural buyer cartels

Besar Durmishi, the Minister of Economy and Labor, stated that the ministry currently has no information regarding cartel connections among buyers of agricultural products. He noted that if evidence of such collusion emerges, the Commission for Protection of Competition will conduct field inspections of associations and issue fines within legal limits.

Durmishi highlighted that the State Statistical Office publishes monthly product price data, while the Market Inspectorate performs regular field checks. He mentioned that inflation in July was 0.1 percent monthly and 2.3 percent annually, with food prices decreasing by 1.3 percent. Regarding potential VAT reductions on fuel, Durmishi indicated that the competent minister would provide further updates during government meetings.
