Besiktas seeks permanent EuroLeague status

Besiktas general manager Nedim Yucel has announced the club's ambition to establish itself as a permanent and competitive organization within the EuroLeague. Following a one-year invitation to the competition, the Turkish club aims to move beyond a single-season appearance to build a long-term presence at the highest level of European basketball.

Yucel emphasized that securing a permanent spot will require more than on-court success, citing the need for financial sustainability, professional operations, sponsorships, and fan engagement. The club's recent growth has been marked by reaching the finals of the Turkish League, the Turkish Cup, and the EuroCup.

As part of this long-term strategy, the club has extended coach Dusan Alimpijevic's contract through the 2027-28 season. Yucel noted that the extension reflects confidence in the team's consistent year-over-year progress and the coaching staff's ability to develop a competitive identity.
