Best in Class Award 2027 honors top electric vehicles

The third annual Best in Class Award 2027 was presented on October 16, 2026, during the e4 Testival at the Hockenheimring. Organized by the magazine electricar and the Institut Neue Mobilität, the awards recognized eleven winners across various categories from a pool of approximately 100 nominated models and brands.

The selection process utilized a three-stage method involving technical data from an electric vehicle database, a professional jury, and reader votes. Criteria included efficiency, sustainability, performance, comfort, and quality.

Key winners include the Skoda Epiq for best small/mini electric car, the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake for the mid-size category, and the Polestar 5 for design. Xpeng was named the E-Mobility Newcomer, while BYD received the Best Global Brand award.
