Nebius Group faces stock pressure despite major AI infrastructure expansion

Nebius Group, an artificial intelligence cloud infrastructure provider, has experienced significant stock volatility, with shares plunging over 30% in July. Despite this pullback, the company saw substantial growth in the first quarter, with revenue rising from approximately $50 million in 2025 to $400 million this year.

The company is heavily investing in expansion, including a 310-megawatt data center infrastructure project in Finland and securing land and power for an AI factory in Pennsylvania. To support these growth initiatives, Nebius announced a $775 million debt financing plan, following $6.3 billion raised in the first quarter, which included a $2 billion equity investment from Nvidia.

Additional business developments include a cloud contract with Reflection AI valued at over $1 billion. However, analysts note that the stock's recent decline below its 100-day moving average serves as a short-term technical warning sign. Investors are awaiting the Q2 results scheduled for August 12 to assess if cash flow can keep pace with capital-intensive infrastructure expansion.
