Betard Sparta Wrocław beats Gezet Stal Gorzów and climbs to league joint‑lead

Betard Sparta Wrocław secured a 51‑39 victory over Gezet Stal Gorzów in a catch‑up match of the PGE Ekstraliga. The win gave Sparta 14 points, equalising with league leaders GKM Grudziądz and Fogo Unia Leszno. The team also earned a bonus for the two‑leg win, moving into a three‑way tie at the top of the table.

Captain Maciej Janowski praised his own form, noting that his speed had returned and his average had risen to 2.000 points per race. He highlighted the opportunity to give extra rides to younger riders such as Nikodem Mikołajczyk, Marcel Kowolik and Anders Rowe, stressing the importance of building depth amid injuries. Sparta’s next fixtures include a clash with Bayersystem GKM Grudziądz on Friday.

The result tightens the race for playoff spots, with Orlen Oil Motor Lublin slipping to fifth and other teams fighting for position ahead of the remaining rounds.
