Betard Sparta Wrocław advances to PGE Ekstraliga final
Betard Sparta Wrocław has advanced to the PGE Ekstraliga final after a hard-fought second leg against Fogo Unia Leszno. Despite a 20-point deficit from the first match, Unia Leszno managed a 45:45 draw at the Olympic Stadium in Wrocław, but Sparta's earlier 55:35 victory in Leszno secured their progression.
The match was marked by tension and technical issues. Sparta leader Artiom Łaguta faced verbal abuse from Leszno fans, to which he responded by blowing kisses to the away section. Łaguta also noted mechanical difficulties during his heats. Janusz Kołodziej, leading Unia Leszno, attributed his team's struggle to equipment inconsistencies and suggested that the heavy defeat in the first leg had impacted their morale.
As Sparta prepares for the final, they face potential roster challenges with the uncertain availability of Daniel Bewley and Bartłomiej Kowalski. Meanwhile, Unia Leszno will shift their focus to competing for the bronze medal.
