Betfair Romania to lay off approximately 300 employees in Cluj

Betfair Romania Development has confirmed a restructuring process that will result in approximately 300 employees leaving the company. The affected staff members are part of the UK and Ireland (UKI) teams based in Cluj-Napoca.

The company, which is part of the British Flutter group, stated that these organizational changes are a response to significant tax increases within the gambling industry in the United Kingdom. The restructuring aims to simplify organizational structures, create a more efficient operating model, and consolidate the implementation of the Flutter UKI strategy.

Representatives emphasized that the layoffs do not reflect individual or team performance. Despite these cuts, the Cluj-Napoca center remains a strategic location for the Flutter group, which employs approximately 2,400 people and collaborators at the site.
