Bethesda confirms Fallout 5 will follow The Elder Scrolls VI
Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard has confirmed the development roadmap for the studio’s major upcoming titles. Following the completion of The Elder Scrolls VI, the studio will move on to develop Fallout 5.
Due to the increasing complexity of AAA game development, the timeline for these releases is expected to be extensive. Estimates suggest The Elder Scrolls VI may not arrive until at least 2028, which would push the potential release of Fallout 5 into the 2030s.
To maintain engagement during these long development cycles, Bethesda is pursuing several side projects. These include remakes of classic titles such as Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, as well as a new Fallout project currently being developed by Obsidian Entertainment.
