Bethesda releases Oblivion Remastered for multiple platforms

Bethesda Softworks, now a subsidiary of Microsoft, has released a remastered version of the classic title The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The remaster, which underwent technical remodeling by Virtuos, is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

The updated version introduces visual enhancements and quality-of-life improvements, including a sprinting mechanic, a simplified progression system, and more kinetic combat. While the main campaign can be completed in approximately ten hours, exploration can extend gameplay beyond 60 hours. Users on PC have reportedly encountered performance issues at launch, necessitating a check of recommended system specifications.

This release follows Bethesda's long history, which began 40 years ago in 1986 with sports simulation titles like Gridiron! before evolving into the developer of major franchises such as Fallout, Starfield, and The Elder Scrolls.
