Bethune-Cookman University celebrates 2026 Homecoming

Bethune-Cookman University, located in Daytona Beach, Florida, is celebrating its 2026 HBCU Homecoming series. Founded in 1904 by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, the institution has evolved from a small school with five students into a prominent university known for its Marching Wildcat band and 14 Karat Gold Dance squad.

Dr. Bethune, an international figure who advised U.S. Presidents and assisted in the founding of the United Nations, established the school on principles of faith and service. The university, a charter member of the United Negro College Fund, achieved university status in 2007. To expand accessibility, the institution launched B-CU Global, an online program that has included Grammy-nominated singer Sevyn Streeter as its first online student.
