Beštia film production begins based on Dominik Dán novels

Filming has commenced on the detective thriller ‘Beštia’, based on the bestselling crime novels by Slovak author Dominik Dán. Directed by Peter Bebjak, the film follows a detective investigating a serial killer who leaves no fingerprints, forcing investigators to rely on the then-revolutionary method of DNA analysis.

The production features actors Tomáš Maštalír and Martin Klinčúch, alongside Alexander Bárta, Michal Kubovčík, and Ján Jackuliak. Producer Rasťo Šesták of DNA Production noted that the project is a realization of a long-held ambition to adapt Dán’s work.

Developed in cooperation with VOYO, the film will be distributed in Slovakia and the Czech Republic by Continental Film, with a scheduled theatrical release on January 28, 2027.
