Betim launches 6th edition of Black Beauty Contest

The City of Betim has opened registrations for the 6th edition of the 'Concurso Beleza Negra' (Black Beauty Contest), an initiative designed to celebrate the identity, culture, and representation of the municipality's Black population.

The competition will progress through 10 regional stages, with a grand final scheduled for November 13. Participants must be residents of Betim, aged 18 or older, with no maximum age limit. Registration is free and must be completed in person at regional headquarters.

Each regional stage offers 30 spots, divided equally between male and female categories. A representative couple from each of the 10 regions will advance to the final, where 20 participants will compete for the top three positions in both categories. Judges will evaluate contestants based on their connection to Black culture, visual identity, creativity, posture, communication, and beauty, emphasizing personal history and individual expression.
