Betim teen and Imperatriz man killed in separate shootings in Brazil
A 15-year-old boy was shot dead on Rua Rio Verde in the Parque Jardim Teresópolis area of Betim, Minas Gerais, on the night of 23 June. Police found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds near house number 13; investigators recovered 26 ammunition casings and eight 9 mm projectiles, and a silver Ford Ka was reported as possibly involved. No arrests have been made.
On 21 June, a 38-year-old man was fatally shot in the Parque Alvorada neighbourhood of Imperatriz, Maranhão, after a dispute that began on a public street. The assailant allegedly returned to the victim’s house and fired through a window, using an improvised firearm. The perpetrator fled and remains at large, with police conducting searches but finding no suspect.
Both incidents are being investigated as qualified homicides involving firearms, and each case has prompted local police operations to locate the shooters.
