betiON teleassistance service reaches 90,000 users in Basque Country

The Basque public teleassistance service, betiON, has surpassed 90,000 users. To support aging populations in rural areas, the service has launched a specific campaign titled ‘Nire etxean eta lasai / En mi casa y con tranquilidad’ in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Álava.

The two-month initiative will visit 24 local entities across six rural districts in Álava to provide information directly to elderly residents and their families. This proactive approach aims to ensure that those living in remote areas can access essential support services to remain in their homes.

Data from the Basque Government shows that of the 90,023 users, 46,771 are in Bizkaia, 31,689 in Gipuzkoa, and 11,563 in Álava. The user base is predominantly female, accounting for 74% of the total. The largest age group consists of individuals between 80 and 89 years old, while 399 users are aged 100 or older.
