Beto Carrero World has announced that Star Mountain, the park's first and oldest roller coaster, will cease operations on September 13. Inaugurated in 1994, the attraction has hosted an estimated 33 to 35 million visitors over its 32-year history.

CEO Alex Murad stated that the decision to retire the ride follows technical assessments regarding its age and the need to maintain high safety standards. The Star Mountain, manufactured by Vekoma, features a 22-meter height, a 730-meter track, and two loops. It originally operated at the Italpark in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before being moved to the Brazilian park.

The decommissioning is part of a larger R$ 2 billion investment plan aimed at renewing the park's infrastructure and introducing new themed areas and family-oriented attractions. The site currently occupied by the Star Mountain will be repurposed for a new, undisclosed themed area.
