Beto Preto: TRE-PR dismisses complaint over vaccine advocacy

The Regional Electoral Court of Paraná (TRE-PR) has dismissed a complaint against Federal Deputy Beto Preto regarding his social media posts advocating for vaccination. The complaint, categorized as an irregularity in electoral propaganda, accused the deputy of using vaccination topics to promote himself politically.

Beto Preto, a physician and former State Secretary of Health, defended the importance of vaccines, specifically highlighting the triple viral vaccine's role in preventing measles, mumps, and rubella. He argued that his statements were based on scientific evidence and public health policy rather than electoral strategy. Following the dismissal, Preto stated that defending science and public health should not be treated as an electoral irregularity.
