The Woody Guthrie Center has announced that entertainer, activist, and humanitarian Bette Midler will receive the 2026 Woody Guthrie Prize. Midler has been recognized for her 50-year career as a singer, actress, and producer, as well as her advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, environmental conservation, and public health.

The award ceremony is scheduled for October 16 at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event will include remarks from Cady Shaw and members of the Guthrie family, an interview between Midler and journalist Rona Elliot, and a performance by country singer Bryan Andrews.
