Betting sponsors featured in all recent Libertadores finals involving Brazilian clubs

A recent survey reveals that every Copa Libertadores final involving a Brazilian club between 2019 and 2025 featured at least one betting company as a sponsor. During this period, Brazilian clubs won every title of the tournament.

Following a provisional measure (MP) that banned the exploitation, offering, intermediation, and advertising of betting services, the deadline for these companies to withdraw from the market ended on Monday, October 5. Consequently, Brazilian clubs are now prohibited from displaying betting brands on their jerseys, marking the end of a trend that saw sponsors move from shoulder placements to master sponsorship positions on the front of kits.

The presence of betting brands in major finals began in 2019 with Flamengo and Sportsbet.io. Since then, various clubs including Santos, Athletico-PR, Atlético-MG, Fluminense, Botafogo, and Palmeiras have featured sponsors such as Casa de Apostas, Pixbet, Betsson, Betano, Parimatch, and Sportingbet during their championship campaigns.
