Betty Idol arrested in Florida real estate fraud case
Salomes Rengifo Jackson, a 40-year-old reality television personality known as Betty Idol from ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’, has been arrested following an investigation into a real estate fraud scheme in Volusia County, Florida.
Authorities allege that Jackson was a key figure in a fraudulent land sale involving a vacant property in Orange City. Investigators state that the identities of the rightful property owners were used to make the land appear legitimately available for sale. Victims reportedly wired nearly $200,000 to a fraudulent account designed to mimic an escrow or title account associated with Old Republic Title.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson allegedly exercised direct control over bank accounts used to receive and transfer the stolen funds. Detectives traced approximately $178,786.65 of the stolen money directly to Jackson. The investigation, which began after victims reported losses in September 2025, involved tracing transfers across multiple accounts, some of which were reportedly opened using stolen identities.
