Betty Mould-Iddrisu urges NDC to reaffirm founding principles
Former Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to strengthen its founding values and principles. She warned that some members appear more focused on securing personal benefits, such as jobs and contracts, rather than embracing the party’s political philosophy.
Mould-Iddrisu emphasized the necessity of educating new members about the party’s history, achievements, and ideals to preserve its identity. She referenced the legacies of former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Evans Atta Mills, noting their emphasis on morality, integrity, and principled leadership.
While expressing enthusiasm for the high level of interest in the NDC’s internal elections, she cautioned those contesting positions at branch, constituency, and regional levels that their roles should serve nation-building rather than personal gain. She also urged the party to pay greater attention to vulnerable and less privileged groups within its structures.
