Beuningen introduces area bans to combat public disorder
The Mayor of Beuningen has implemented new regulations to combat public disorder by allowing for the imposition of area bans. These measures target specific locations where serious disturbances to public order occur.
The designated areas include parts of the Beuningen city center—specifically around Julianaplein, Kerkplein, Mauritsplein, Schoolstraat, and Thorbeckeplein—as well as the vicinity of Schoenaker, including Koningstraat, Antoniuslaan, and Wilgenoord.
Under these rules, individuals subject to a ban are prohibited from entering or remaining in the specified zones for the duration of the order. The decision is effective from August 7, 2026, until March 1, 2027. The mayor retains the discretion to determine if a ban is necessary based on individual situations. Through-traffic for motorists remains permitted, provided they are only using the roads to pass through the area without stopping.
