Beverage brands host specialized non-alcoholic pop-up events in Japan

Beverage companies are hosting specialized events in Japan to promote non-alcoholic and tea-based spirit alternatives.

Asahi Breweries is holding a two-day pop-up bar event titled “#SOBAR NIGHT BOX” in Shibuya, Tokyo. The event promotes its Wilkinson “Tag Sober” series, which is marketed as “night-specific carbonated water” rather than a standard non-alcoholic drink. The series aims to provide a cocktail-like experience for adults who wish to enjoy the atmosphere of a bar without consuming alcohol. A new flavor, Herbal Lime, was recently launched to complement the existing lemon ginger and lychee tonic options.

Separately, Yaso Co., Ltd., the Japanese distributor for the Taiwanese tea-based spirits brand S. C Lab, is organizing collaboration events in Tokyo. On September 21 and 22, 2026, the brand will host limited-time cocktail events at bars in Ebisu and Kagurazaka. The events will feature original cocktails crafted by local bartenders using S. C Lab spirits, with the brand's co-founders traveling from Taiwan to participate. Additionally, the brand will participate in a market event in Tateshina, Nagano Prefecture, to offer tasting experiences.
