Beverage companies adopt AI for personalized consumer experiences

Major beverage companies are integrating artificial intelligence to personalize consumer experiences. Heineken has introduced ‘Personalised Draught’ through its Heineken Studio business, a system that uses AI to create over 100 tailored beer expressions from a single tap. By scanning a QR code, consumers can input preferences such as mood, personality traits, weather, or favorite films. The technology then blends ingredients to match these profiles, ranging from 0.0% to 5% ABV, and prints a unique label for each pour.

Similarly, Colruyt Group’s online platform, BOIR, has launched ‘Babette,’ an AI-powered sommelier. Designed to assist customers navigating a catalogue of nearly 2,000 products, the tool allows users to engage in natural conversation to find specific pairings, gifts, or alcohol-free alternatives based on budget and occasion. The system utilizes the expertise of professional sommeliers to drive its recommendation engine, with the option to escalate complex queries to human experts.
