Beverage companies launch new functional soft drinks and cherry rosé products
The beverage industry is seeing new product entries from both the soft drink and wine sectors. Challenger brand Aapa has launched a nationwide rollout in the UK, making its products available at WHSmith and Asda. The brand aims to bridge the gap between traditional soft drinks and functional beverages, offering 330ml cans in four flavors: Lemon & Lime, Orange, Wild Berry, and Tropical. Each can contains 7g of fiber, zinc, calcium, antioxidants, and real fruit juice, while remaining naturally sweetened at 49 calories.
In the wine sector, Chilean producer Morandé Wine Group has introduced a mid-strength cherry rosé-style wine under its new Belle brand. The product, named Belle Cherry, is a 7% ABV blend of cherry wine and Sauvignon Blanc. It is currently being sold at the US retailer Total Wine & More. The innovation leverages Chile’s position as a major global exporter of fresh cherries to target consumer interest in new flavors and moderate drinking occasions.
