Beverage producers implement sustainable packaging and labeling reforms

Beverage manufacturers are adopting new technologies and labeling standards to balance sustainability with operational efficiency. Sidel has developed a specialized returnable PET bottle for natural water that is 10% lighter than current lightweight carbonated water bottles. This design is engineered to withstand up to 25 washing cycles while remaining fully compatible with existing PET recycling processes.

Simultaneously, major companies including Coca-Cola, Nestlé, and Danone are revising environmental labeling to ensure greater transparency. New standards aim to clarify the scope of recycled content claims. For instance, if a '100% recycled' claim refers only to the bottle body and excludes the cap or label, the packaging must explicitly state this distinction to avoid misleading consumers regarding the entire unit's composition.
