Beverly Bays stabbing: Bystanders and security credited with preventing further injury

Details have emerged regarding the heroic actions of bystanders and security staff during a recent stabbing incident at Beverly Bays in Hong Kong.

A male resident of Tower 47 noticed a knife in the pocket of a 22-year-old Bangladeshi man, identified as Han, while riding an elevator. Following the principle of ‘reporting suspicious activity,’ the resident discreetly alerted security upon reaching the lobby.

As the suspect exited the building, he attacked a 61-year-old security guard and a 61-year-old domestic worker. A 34-year-old Ugandan man intervened by kicking the attacker to prevent further injury to the domestic worker, while another security guard used a broom to separate the parties. Police subsequently arrived and arrested Han on suspicion of wounding. The suspect, who holds a Hong Kong identity card, reportedly suffers from depression.
