Beverly Hills Police Department implements electronic traffic citations
The Beverly Hills Police Department and the Superior Court of Los Angeles County have launched a new electronic citation system to streamline the transmission of traffic citations. Effective September 28, the system connects the police department’s records directly to the court’s case management system.
This digital transition eliminates the need for manual data entry and physical paper handling. Under the previous system, filing citations could take up to a month; with the new eCitations program, information typically appears in the court’s online system within 48 hours. Presiding Judge Sergio C. Tapia II stated that the move aims to shorten processing times and provide defendants with faster access to case information.
