Bev's Bagels expands to Birmingham with new location

Detroit-based bakery Bev's Bagels is expanding to Birmingham, Michigan, with a new 1,400-square-foot location at 283 Hamilton Row. The shop is scheduled to open next month and will feature an exclusive menu including veggie-forward open-faced sandwiches, chef-driven chopped salads, gluten-free options, and weekday pastries such as babkas and cinnamon rolls.

Owner Max Sussman, a James Beard Award semifinalist, plans to double weekday production to support both the Birmingham site and the original Detroit Core City location. The expansion also aims to bolster the company's catering services for corporate and family events. Sussman has also indicated plans for a third location in Ann Arbor.

Additionally, PopUp Bagels is set to open its first Michigan storefront in Birmingham at 34400 Woodward Avenue.
