Beyşehir experiences frequent stubble fires following grain harvest

Following the grain harvest, a series of stubble fires have been occurring daily in the Beyşehir district of Konya. The fires have broken out in multiple locations, including areas along the Beyşehir-Hüyük highway, causing large areas of land to burn.

Firefighting teams have faced difficulties in controlling the situation due to the simultaneous outbreaks in different locations. The flames and smoke have become visible from the district center, and wind has carried ash into residential areas, prompting protests from local citizens regarding environmental and health risks. Gendarmerie teams have launched an investigation into the fires, which are believed to be caused by the intentional burning of crop residues.
