Beyoncé archival footage from 2001 resurfaces

Archival footage from 2001 has resurfaced showing a 19-year-old Beyoncé, then a member of Destiny’s Child, participating in a recording project for Michael Jackson’s post-9/11 charity single, “What More Can I Give.”

The video was filmed by producer Marc Schaffel as part of an unreleased reality project centered on Jackson and his associates. In the footage, Beyoncé is seen discussing a potential collaboration with Jackson via telephone. Some viewers have noted the unusual nature of the clip, which shows Beyoncé seated on Schaffel’s lap during the call.

Schaffel, who served as an executive producer for the charity project, reportedly filmed extensive material between 2000 and 2003. The reality series was never aired following the 2003 raid on Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. Schaffel has expressed interest in compiling this archival material into a documentary for a streaming service.
