Beyond Fest announces M. Night Shyamalan film retrospective

Beyond Fest, in partnership with MUBI and the American Cinematheque, has announced a major film retrospective titled ‘Night Visions: The Shock and Awe of M. Night Shyamalan’. The event marks the first West Coast retrospective of the filmmaker’s work to feature Shyamalan in person.

Spanning 27 years and 12 feature films, the retrospective will take place at the historic Egyptian Theatre. The programming is divided into four curated blocks: ‘The Eastrail 177 Trilogy’ featuring Unbreakable, Split, and Glass; ‘The End of the World Is Nigh(t)’ featuring Signs and Knock at the Cabin; ‘The Power of Paranoia’ featuring The Visit and Trap; and a concluding session focused on The Sixth Sense.

Shyamalan is scheduled to participate in in-person Q&A sessions and masterclasses throughout the event, providing insights into his creative process and cinematic legacy.
