Beytüşşebap hosts first traditional honey harvest festival

The first Traditional Honey Promotion and Harvest Festival was held at the Kahni Cemet Plateau on the slopes of Mount Kato in the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak. The event aimed to promote local beekeeping and facilitate market access for regional producers.

Local officials noted that the area's rich vegetation supports active beekeeping, with approximately 360 beekeepers currently operating in the district. Hıdır Cin, President of the Beytüşşebap Honey Cooperative, highlighted that the cooperative was established to address market challenges faced by producers. He noted that high-quality wild forest honey (karakovan) is being sold for 5,000 TL.
