Březolupy school implements self-service dining during renovation
A school in Březolupy is undergoing a reconstruction of its kitchen and dining facilities to implement a self-service system. The project aims to modernize the 45-year-old facility to meet current standards.
Mayor Petr Kukla stated that the transition to self-service is intended to increase student satisfaction, reduce food waste, and generate significant financial savings. Under the new model, students will select their own side dishes and salads from a vegetable bar rather than receiving pre-plated meals. The savings from the new system are expected to be reinvested into higher quality ingredients, more fruit, and desserts for the students.
During the construction period, students are temporarily using a multi-purpose hall for meals. To ensure a smooth transition, teachers will provide increased supervision, particularly for first and second-grade students.
