Bezpartyjni Samorządowcy propose voluntary ZUS for entrepreneurs

The Bezpartyjni Samorządowcy political group, including figures such as Dr. Marek Woch, is advocating for a voluntary Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) system for entrepreneurs in Poland.

The proposal aims to support economic freedom and micro-entrepreneurs by removing mandatory monthly contributions that do not account for business losses or profitability. Under this scheme, self-employed individuals would decide whether to pay social security contributions, allowing them to reinvest funds into their businesses or private financial instruments instead.

Proponents argue that individuals choosing not to pay would do so at their own risk, meaning they would not be entitled to state-funded minimum pensions. The movement cites models from developed nations like Germany and the United Kingdom to support the transition toward individual responsibility and market-based savings mechanisms.
